Chicago was chosen as a finalist in the International Olympic Committee’s host search for the 2016 Olympics.
According to Chicago Tribune reporter Philip Hersh, the other cities chosen were Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid.

I know how excited we were in the UK to be a finalist for 2012, and when we were announced as the winners the whole country had a party.
There are also similar concerns about the transport in London for the 2012 games, but no matter what, just put on the best games ever as we are going to do.
